About the Position:
Access is looking to hire it’s first in-house ‘visual designer’ who will be tasked with the tremendous opportunity of shaping our organizations visual identity, overhauling our website and developing our brand. In addition to these major projects, the designer will be engaged in creating layouts and images for campaigns and fundraisers, designing usable single-serving websites, visualizing data in interactive and compelling ways, branding tech initiatives and products, producing templates for our printed material, and helping us develop our own line of awesome schwag: stickers, t-shirts, and skunkworks projects like Accessbrau.

This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated candidate who is both an excellent designer (graphic & web) but also someone who is passionate about human rights, activism, global political participation and personal liberties and who is inspired by our mission to defend digital rights and fight for open and secure communications for all. We are looking for a designer who is dedicated to applying their skills to these issues, a candidate who is impelled to generate creative visual ideas for social change and use their expertise to mobilize and expand our global movement of citizens.
Collaborating in the design of a new Access website
Producing internal brand guidelines and materials
Designing websites and graphics for advocacy campaigns and fundraising
Conceptualizing and visualizing interactive data presentations
Branding initiatives, issues, and projects
Developing beautiful and identifiable templates and layouts for printed documents, reports, fliers, and briefing notes
Creating charming, quirky, and engaging visual hooks for products, stickers, and schwag Position requirements:
Fluency in industry-standard graphics software
Demonstrated proficiency in designing user interfaces for presenting information with action-oriented outcomes, such as advocacy campaigns
Excellent communication skills and a passion for collaborative work • Demonstrated project management skills
Experience designing for diverse and multilingual user groups
A passion for digital rights and global users needs
An ability to work in a fast-paced but friendly environment while juggling multiple projects and competing demands on time
Illustration, animation, or video production experience
Demonstrated writing and communications skills
